Announcing the launch of The Community Builder's Journal - Guided reflections and experiments for your community building journey Authors: Peter Westoby, Dave Andrews, Howard Buckley, Rachael Donovan, Kirsty Leigh, Gerard Dowling, Richard Warner
Members of Community Praxis Coop and Nundah Community Enterprise Coop have come together to develop this resource for citizens who'd like to support their communities to thrive. As long-term community development practitioners, we know that Community does not just happen. It asks something of us: attention, intention, courage, skills, patience, and a willingness to try, rest, and try again. This guided year-long journal is an invitation to make that commitment consciously. It offers 51 weekly provocations, stories, reflections, and small experiments in practice – practical steps for those who already build community and want to deepen their craft, those who sense they would like to do more but are unsure where to start, and those who feel isolated and want to gently reorient their lives toward connection. Plus, each month includes a recipe from the Nundah Community Enterprise Cooperative—a small reminder that community is also made around shared tables.
Check out the conversation between two of the authors, Peter Westoby and Rachael Donovan about the Journal, why it matters in these times of polarisation and isolation.
